the "seminar on basics of biostatistics for non-statistician - entry level" held in shanghai
shanghai, june 4 - the "seminar on basics of biostatistics for non-statistician --- entry level", organized by scrc, was held in shanghai, may 27-28, 2010. the seminar was intended to help cras, project managers, and other clinical professionals to gain the basics of biostatistics which are essential part in clinical research.
the speakers, most of whom have more than 20 years´ experience in biostatistics and data management, were invited to give presentations on the seminar. the seminar covered a wide range of topic related to biostatistics, including randomization, sample size estimation, statistics analysis, and statistical design and so on. prof. pihuan jin, senior advisor of scrc, and wei deng, biostatistics director of scrc, introduced randomization and sample size estimation. weiying yuan from johnson & johnson, melinda tao from eps, and henry lynn from fudan university shared their experience with the participants.
more than twenty professionals from large pharmaceutical companies, such as roche , astrazeneca, johnson&johnson medical, daiichi sanko, attended the seminar. also in attendance were seven investigators from clinical research sites such as zhongshan hospital.
scrc will organize the 2nd round of the seminar this year.
